The Responsability of Becoming a Black Belt

by Catherine Conroy
(Las Vegas, Nevada)

Being a black belt is much more than having a high title in class. When someone receives their belt they now have more responsibility to take on.

With this title they must now have to accurately explain and instruct others in class.

Being a black belt increases a persons discipline, respect, self confidence, and responsibility. These qualities will increase in a person who has received their black belt.

But even though you are a high rank it doesn't mean that you are done learning. Every day you will continue learning from your teachers and by your teaching of others. Becoming a black belt is a title that takes many years of training to achieve, and it is a great honor when you are finally ready to receive it.
